On Monday November 15th Brent Council Executives will meet to consider whether to agree to proceed with a public consulation on the future of Brent's library service.
Currently Brent has 12 libraries across the Borough. Queens Park Bookshop understands that the proposal is to close 6 of the 12 libraries, they are not the ones in Queens Park. This proposal is as result of the Councils need to make savings in response to reductions government funding.
If agreed at Executive, the consultation will run from the 29th November 2010 – 4th March 2011.
There will be a series public meeting and an online survey at www.brent.gov.uk/consultations . Brent residents can also submit comments and ask questions by email to http://Libraryconsultation.brent.gov.uk .
